IT Administrative Project Manager
Job Description

General Summary

Responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and managing a variety of initiatives and small projects in support of the Department. Collaborate with IS&T leaders, UMMS leaders, and staff to ensure the successful implementation of projects and initiatives. Perform complex analysis and evaluation of data to provide interpretation and guidance to leadership in support of strategic planning, program development, operational changes, budget development, and other priorities. Work is performed under limited supervision. Direct report to the Vice President, Clinical Systems & Chief of Clinical Informatics

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Provide department support for the VP, Clinical Systems & Chief of Clinical Informatics.Participate in and leads committee and ad hoc meetings as assigned.Ensure that project or initiative objectives are met by monitoring and measuring progress regularly to identify blockers and potential risks to project success and take corrective action, as necessary.Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.Regularly communicate issues and updates related to all initiatives to the VP Clinical Systems and Chief of Clinical Informatics.Provide status reporting to project teams and leadership to show the overall health of the project/initiative, issues of concern and expense forecasting and tracking.Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.Responsible for ensuring projects and initiatives are completed on-time, within budget, by ensuring that activities are properly sequenced and within coordinated timelines.Function as a liaison between various teams and leadership to ensure alignment with project objectives.Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, project plans, status reports, and issue logs.Design and create engaging reports, presentations, and visualizations that are understandable and communicate compelling stories to diverse audiences.Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels of leadership, staff, and vendors.Perform other duties as assigned.Company Description

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field.Four (4) years of applicable experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree.Three (3) years of related work experience in project management, management consulting, process improvement, or similar positions which includes communication with internal/external customers, physicians, and senior executives required.Minimum three (3) years’ progressively responsible planning, financial, process analysis, or strategic development experience required. Healthcare related experience preferred.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working knowledge of medical terminology, accounting and/or statistics.Solid understanding of project management methodology including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, prioritize, perform resource allocations, lead team meetings and drive accountability.Working knowledge of clinical systems technology used in various health care settings.Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.Ability to develop and evaluate data via use of computer analysis.Ability to judge the level of confidentiality of information and exhibit discretion in the use and/or dissemination.Self-motivated individual who can excel with little supervision and the proven ability to be successful in a fast paced, dynamic environment.Advanced skill using innovative thinking to solve problems and facilitate the decision-making process.Advanced analytical, critical thinking, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Advanced skill engaging others in improvement efforts.Advanced skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely at all levels within the organization.Advanced skill managing multiple initiatives and meeting changing requirements and priorities to accomplish objectives.Advanced skill developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with all levels of leadership, team members and vendors.Keen sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work.Advanced verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.).Additional Information
