**Intellectual Property Agent (Patent Agent):**
Protect and drive innovation in the image guided therapy devices field by managing and optimizing Philips’ patent portfolio.
**Your role:**
+ Build and maintain a high-value patent portfolio to protect innovations in image guided therapy devices, maximizing IP protection and business value.
+ Collaborate with R&D teams to foster innovation, identify invention disclosure opportunities, and translate them into strong patents.
+ Apply expertise in patent drafting, prosecution, and strategy to secure IP rights, support licensing, and advise on patent-related matters.
+ Conduct periodic reviews of the patent portfolio to optimize costs while maintaining strategic value.
+ Join a global team of IP professionals, working cross-functionally to align IP strategies with business goals.
**You're the right fit if:**
+ You have 3+ years of experience in patent creation, either in a law firm or a mix of law firm and in-house roles.
+ You have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, biomedical, or electrical engineering and are a registered patent agent with the USPTO.
+ Your skills include patent prosecution before the USPTO, PCT patent practice, and handling office actions, appeals, and objections, including Section 101 issues.
+ You thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrating strong analytical, critical thinking, and multitasking abilities.
+ You have excellent communication skills and experience working with the medical community is a plus.
+ You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
**How we work together**
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

**Philips Transparency Details**
The pay range for this position in San Diego, CA is $140,000 to $180,000
The pay range for this position in Cleveland, OH is $130,000 to $160,000
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
