Investments Consultant - Netherlands Wealth Business

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Netherlands Wealth Business team at Mercer. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Wealth Financial Sector Clients department is responsible for providing services to financial institutions (such as pension funds, insurers, and banks). Our services include strategic advice (including on the Future of Pensions Act), certification, ALM studies, investment advice, risk management, and various other pension and investment issues.

As an Investment consultant, you will be part of several dedicated client teams and participate in various projects. You will provide all possible support from start to finish in the process to ultimately deliver advice to the client in the most efficient and effective manner and at the highest possible quality. In addition to your focus area, you will have the opportunity to develop more broadly and can be involved in different projects across various departments within Mercer.

You will be involved in advising and monitoring all components of the investment process. This means setting up strategic policies to the actual structuring of investment portfolios and the selection of asset managers and custodians. Additionally, you will be involved in monitoring returns and risks through investment reports and analyses. Naturally, you will also develop knowledge about current themes such as sustainable investing and be involved in advising clients on these topics. You will have regular contact with international colleagues to keep informed on international developments and to support in preparation of specific projects.

We will count on you to:

Conducting or reviewing return and risk analyses.Keeping up with developments in the sector and applying them in your work.Developing or collaborating on advice regarding both institutional investors and managers, as well as the implementation of risk management for our institutional clients.Conducting selection processes for asset managers in collaboration with colleagues abroad.Researching and benchmarking the sustainability of investment portfolios.Preparations for investment advisory committees of institutional investors.Coordinating activities within the client team and project.

What we are looking for:

Degree in finance or economics.Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience.Interest in Investments.Strong analytical and quantitative skills.Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to autonomously prioritise and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks.Proficient in English, both spoken and written (C1/C2). Basic knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
