Why is your role important?
Reporting to the Head of Climate and Sustainability Research, this investment researcher will be a key member of a small team responsible for leading the firm’s thought leadership and investment research on the energy transition, sustainable and transition investing strategies, and related investment opportunities and risks—particularly related to private markets and infrastructure. This is a global role working across markets and investment teams to inform whole portfolio investment strategy, with a particular focus on energy transition, climate change, and broader infrastructure investing.
What will you be doing?
• Ability to monitor market trends and develop timely analysis to inform investment platform debates
• Autonomous research ideation and execution while contributing to team research projects at multiple scales
• Economic, energy system, and climate modelling in support of strategic investment views, including capital market assumptions
• Participating in global and regional client engagement on energy transition, climate change, and infrastructure trends.
• Harnessing views from our investment platform around such trends
• Writing thought leadership for internal and client audiences
What are we looking for?
• 5+ years of experience in an energy or infrastructure research and/or investment position in financial services, policy-making, or research services sectors.
• Strong background in energy systems and broader infrastructure finance (digital, transport, water, etc) with substantial experience forecasting and analyzing economic trends.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and strong statistical/econometric skills are required. Python/R and other coding skills highly desirable.
• Proficiency in multiple European languages strongly preferred.
• A credible thought leader, highly effective in both verbal and written communications.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally.
