What You'll Do + Conduct Investigations:Conduct investigations of alleged/potential abuse, neglect, and serious injuries by employees to individuals living at Woodward Resource Center in order to obtain the facts and evidence required to determine if abuse, neglect, and serious injury occurred. Gather facts through fact finding interviews with witnesses, individuals living at the Resource Center, and facility staff, as well as through observations, informant leads, and analysis of facility records to document and verify the accuracy and authenticity of evidence. + Analyze: Analyze complaints and allegations to determine scope, timing, and direction of an investigation by identifying the issues involved and the types of evidence needed. Prepare detailed investigative reports on the status and disposition of cases of abuse, neglect, and serious injury. + Collaboration:Work in conjunction with the Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing, Division of Criminal Investigation, county and local police departments, and Federal Bureau of Investigations, as necessary. + Assist Management:Analyze data related to tracking and trending of incidents and investigations and make recommendations to the Director of Quality Management or designee. + Provide training and support:Conduct training on recognizing and reporting abuse, neglect, and other matters related to client safety. Key Competencies Successful candidates for this position will demonstrate the following competencies: + Effective Communication:Communicate the position of Woodward Resource Center to others effectively (i.e. staff, Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing, law enforcement, etc.). + Critical Thinking:Summarize data into written form, analyzing trends and recommending changes needed. + Complex Problem Solving:Exercise skill in identifying complex problems, reviewing related information, developing and evaluating options, and implementing solutions. + Technical writing:Write investigation reports that describe processes followed, information discovered, conclusions, and reasoning. + Availability:Be available on evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, working a rotation of on call duty. Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: + Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in law enforcement, corrections, criminology, police science, accounting, finance, or law, and experience equal to one year of full-time work as an investigator requiring knowledge in law enforcement, corrections, or criminal investigation. + Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in law enforcement, corrections, criminology, police science, accounting, finance, or law, and experience equal to one year of full-time work in the administration of a program involving application of agency unemployment insurance or public assistance benefit programs, correctional rules and regulations, and/or court or administrative hearings processes. + A total of five years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one or two), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in law enforcement, corrections, criminology, police science, accounting, finance, or law equals one year of full-time experience. + Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes twelve months of full-time work as an Investigator 1 or twenty-four months of full-time work as a Warehouse and Grain Dealer Examiner.
