Summary You will serve as an Investigative Analyst in the Secretary of the Navy Offices of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. Responsibilities You will lead in the assessment and evaluation efforts of multi-faceted CI investigations/operations and other products tailored to support DoD, DON, and NCIS’ critical requirements that include multiple assets and activities. You will monitor, coordinate and exercise quality control during pendency of targeted CI initiatives and investigations. You will review and determine the effectiveness of investigative techniques, recommend improvements where required. You will develop instructions for dissemination that are designed to improve the efficiency of investigations, promotes the development and utilization of greater skills. You will Plan, prepare, coordinate and present briefings to high-ranking DON and DoD management officials regarding status of issues/initiatives under his/her purview You will determine whether policies, standards and procedures have been met and furnishes advice and assistance on operational and investigative problems. You will improve techniques, and provide standards for determining the scope and extent of initiatives required to ensure attainment of program objectives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with providing critical analytical oversight of CI investigations/operations and other products leveraging creative and innovative operational concepts and approaches to preserve DON critical capabilities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
