**How you make a difference**
The Shift Manager Investigations oversees intelligence gathering operations related to gangs, security threat groups, and illegal activities within the facility involving staff and residents. They provide intelligence information and evaluations to facility management and the contracting agency. They are also responsible for conducting investigations into rule violations, criminal activities, and misconduct and act as the primary liaison with law enforcement agencies.
**Key Responsibilities**
• Collects and analyzes intelligence regarding gang, security threat group, and illegal activities at the facility, and provides recommendations to respond to security threats.
• Investigates general rules violations and abuse allegations by residents or staff, collects and documents evidence, and prepares investigative reports.
• Serves as the primary liaison with law enforcement agencies and identifies contracts with agencies for gang identification and tracking programs.
• Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to custody, security, and treatment of residents as they pertain to investigations and gang activities.
• Travels to other locations for investigations and performs other related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications & Requirements**
Education
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred.
Experience
+ Three (3) years experience working in the security function in a correctional setting required.
+ Work experience in gang activities and investigations in a correctional facility is preferred.
Compliance
+ A working knowledge of correctional program objectives, applicable court orders and laws and a general understanding of the requirements for managing a secure correctional facility.
+ The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, and make and implement decisions without assistance.
+ Must be mature, flexible, intellectually alert, able to command the respect and confidence of inmates and staff, and be philosophically committed to the objectives of the facility.
+ Excellent project management skills.
+ Basic report writing and computer skills.
