Position Overview:

  

The Inventory Manager manages the Inventory Control team, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory processes and leading activities such as physical inventory, standards setting, and variance reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities Manages the Inventory Control team, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and proceduresAssigns duties, gives verbal and written instructions, and reviews work for conformance to quality and safety standardsMonitors sales and inventory levels to ensure accurate forecasts; compares sales forecasts to results and adjusts orders as neededPlaces regular and special orders with key vendors and prepares purchase ordersNegotiates price and delivery dates with vendors; reconciles invoice discrepanciesMaintains inventory database, ensuring data is accurate and timelyDevelops and reports on department metrics, analyzing variances and recommending improvementsWorks with other managers to ensure coordination of inventory operations, production, shipping, and quality assuranceServes on the Safety Committee; recommends new and revised procedures to improve efficiency and safety Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience managing an inventory operationExcellent management skills for directing, coaching, scheduling, and assisting team membersTechnical orientation with ability to learn new technologiesComputer skills including MS OfficeStrategic thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated and detail orientedAbility to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlinesTeam-oriented and collaborative
