Inventory Management Specialist (Order Fulfillment)

Responsibilities Evaluates and develops opportunities to improve Order Fulfillment processes. Engages with supported units on order fulfillment and supply chain matters, ensuring responsive communication. Builds and sustains relationships with supported units. Contacts and coordinates with appropriate functional areas of the supply chain and weapon system teams for resolution of problems. Ensures orders are processed according to applicable Army regulations and AMC guidance and can be fulfilled to meet supported unit expectations. Validates orders through data verification using information related to the supported end item maintenance records and available information about the operational mission. Troubleshoots order discrepancies and reports findings to internal and cross-functional teams. Manages and delivers repairable products and services through the Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements to enable and sustain systems for operational readiness. Performs regular evaluations of existing operations to identify opportunities for improvements in order fulfillment accuracy, productivity, use of automation, etc. Supports the development and implementation of outcome-based demand and supply planning support strategies that optimize supply chain management principles to enhance system readiness and life cycle cost affordability. Addresses and supports resolving system issues, especially in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, that reduce or inhibit requisition processing effectiveness. Participates in operational, tactical, and strategic initiatives within the order fulfillment functional area to support long-range plans. Assists in identifying, developing, and implementing best practices throughout the order fulfillment cycle. Utilizes a partnering approach with the acquisition community to integrate demand and supply planning requirements from the initiation of product development. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower band/level position in the federal service (GS-11). The incumbent must meet all requirements for Data Analytics level one (1) certification within 12 months of being placed on the position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Level 1 (Foundational) Acquisition Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty. Position is designated non-critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2 This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 90 days or longer to process.
