Job Description:

The Inventory Buyer is responsible for processing orders for hospital supplies and equipment while focusing on cost containment strategies. Processes returns and recalls as needed. Responsible for managing and sourcing alternative products during shortages.

Places and processes orders for needed supplies from appropriate wholesalers or vendors. Manages inventory of supplies as needed. Coordinates corrective action when problems are identified: i.e., shortages, recalls, invoice concerns, etc. Assists manager in utilization of contracts and cost containment initiatives. Organizes and maintains vendor files.
