Inventory Accountant
Job Title: Inventory Accountant Job Description We are seeking an Inventory Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Operations Accounting, the Inventory Accountant will perform daily analysis of gross margin, inventory, and cost accounting reports for one region of the company. This role involves working closely with Branch and Division personnel to ensure accurate reporting of margins and inventory transactions, as well as addressing inquiries related to inventory counts and adjustments. Responsibilities + Perform daily analysis of gross margin and inventory reports for one region of the company. + Work with appropriate individuals to resolve exceptions or issues. + Ensure accurate reporting of margins and inventory transactions. + Address questions regarding inventory counts, adjustments, or other inventory-related inquiries. + Complete monthly SOX reports to ensure proper internal controls over inventory transactions. + Perform validity checks before posting inventory adjustments submitted by the branches. + Assist Regional Finance Managers and Analysts in researching inventory transactions resulting in questionable margins or inventory levels. + Handle accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and transactional review. Essential Skills + BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance + 0-3 years of Accounting experience + Experience with general ledger (GL) work + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel + Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail + Ability to understand and analyze issues and apply accounting standards for accurate financial reporting + Ability to prioritize and work with competing deadlines Additional Skills & Qualifications + PeopleSoft and/or SAP experience is a plus + Experience with inventory accounting + Strong integrity and business ethics + Ability to work well with various business areas within the company + Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Work Environment This is a 12-month contract position with potential for extension or permanent hire. The work environment includes a cubicle setup where you will have your own space but can easily collaborate with colleagues. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Loveland, CO, with a requirement to work 5 days a week in the office.
