Internships are a great way to gain experience in the career field you want to pursue, learn from professionals and develop skills and meaningful relationships. 

 

This position typically will be temporary in length and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. This position is geared towards 2025 high school graduates who have the long term goal of working in healthcare, and will introduce you to the healthcare setting. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned department and area of study. These activities may include participation in a wide variety of projects.

Responsibilities May perform other office and clerical support work including, but not limited to, making copies, sending faxes, opening/distributing mail, and maintaining supplies.  Expands and develops knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles related to area of study.  Participates on work teams, contributes to projects and initiatives, and performs various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department.  May accompany Foundation Health Partner's employees into patient areas to observe and maintains confidentiality of all patient information.  Works cohesively with team members to ensure delivery of outstanding customer service, in a positive work environment, that supports the department’s ongoing goals and objectives. 

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Must have general knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study.

 

Proficiency with commonly used office software and personal computers may be necessary, depending on assignment.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
