With over 142 miles of Yellowstone's grand loop, the Transportation Department has the important responsibility of taking guests and deliveries where they need to go. Job Summary: This job involves safely operating company vehicles under various weather conditions while providing excellent guest service and leading informative tours in Yellowstone National Park. Responsibilities include loading and unloading luggage, maintaining a punctual schedule, delivering interpretive commentary, and completing necessary reports. Additionally, the role requires a professional appearance, flexibility to assist in various capacities, and frequent overnight stays at different facilities. The Details: Position Type: Seasonal Season Dates: April 2025/May 2025 - October 2025 Pay: $15.75/hour - $17.75/hour Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why Yellowstone National Park? Responsibilities Ensure the safe and proper operation of company vehicles in all weather conditions, including driving up to 10 hours on various road types Provide courteous guest service and maintain professionalism while working outdoors, even in extreme weather or during vehicle breakdowns Deliver informative and engaging commentary on the natural, cultural, and geological history of Yellowstone National Park while leading guided walks of up to a mile Keep tours on schedule, ensuring punctuality and timely completion of all required reports Assist with the loading and unloading of luggage for guests Represent the company positively, maintaining a clean and neat appearance in the prescribed uniform Assist with various roles as needed, including serving as a Step-On Guide, driving Step-On Tour Guides, bus washing, and supporting guest services in other departments Be prepared for frequent overnight stays at facilities both inside and outside Yellowstone National Park Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and clean driving record Must possess current 1st Aid/CPR certifications (training provided if needed) Communicate effectively through speech and hearing Good reading and comprehension skills to research tour information Able to organize information about Yellowstone National Park into an interpretive thematic tour Judgment and leadership to keep your tour on a semblance of a schedule Physical Requirements include: Must meet all DOT physical requirements and pass a DOT physical exam Able to walk up to a mile several times each day at elevations ranging from 5,300 feet to 10,500 feet above sea level Simultaneously steer a vehicle, shift its transmission, operate accelerator and brake pedals, and give commentary while driving in heavy traffic Able to bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. simultaneously and repeatedly Withstand up to 10 hours of consecutive driving on rough and/or icy roads Able to work outdoors in variable weather (including rain, sleet, snow, direct sunlight, high winds, and temperatures ranging from -60 to +100 degrees Fahrenheit) We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
