Internship Customer Advisory - How BTM tooling connects to customer advisory engagements

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The adoption of our end-2-end solution portfolio is important in our strategy of turning our customers into intelligent enterprises and move them to the cloud.

 

Today we have an isolated silo-focus on solutions. A stronger focus on end-2-end solution adoption is required at our customers, and in order to do so, we need a long(er) term engagement. Therefor SAP introduced Next Level Adoption and Consumption, and are we strongly investing in tools, techniques and processes to get more grip on the customer value journey. Both in the presales phase as in the post-sales phase. An important element in that engagement is the focus on enterprise architecture, in order to build a phased business, process and solution roadmap.

 

Building these solution roadmaps and driving the adoption is always customer specific, and requires significant presales effort and a different type of engagement. And these engagements from a customer advisory perspective have typically two angles, being the application landscape angle (business and solution capabilities) and process angle (end-2-end processes). Both parts of the overall architectural engagement with prospects and customers, as depicted in our architectural framework (metromap, see below), where we have different steps in the journey to come from business strategy to solution architecture..

 

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

· We need a clear assessment on what the right process is for our Customer Advisory in the customer value journey, and what the role of presales can be in that process.

· We need a clear assessment on what the right context and criteria are for our Customer Advisory organisation to decide on what tools to deploy, and what’s the best timing to deploy these in the customer value journey.

· We need insight in how new tools can help in creating that insights, and who needs what tool in which phase of the process, and how we can secure the availability

· The research is aiming in building a model where we bring these elements together (tool, timing, purpose, buying cycle, stakeholder, engagement-type, etcetera)

· Preferably we also want a view on how we can monitor that process, using dashboarding.

· And last but not least, what is the explicit role of customer advisory in the process, the usage of tools, the monitoring and the customer engagement cycle.

· And preferably we also would like to have a view on how we can show the added value of these tools as part of engagements in our experience center.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

The internship is a master project.

 

Required skills are:

· Academic level, preferable industrial engineering, management science, marketing or technology

· Broad knowledge in the area of business processes, from supply chain to finance

· Knowledge on information technology, and ERP software, preferably familiar with SAP

 

Preferred skills are:

· Outgoing, strong in communication

· Committed, hard worker, team-player

· Native in Dutch, fluent in English

· Data analytics / intelligence, dashboarding
