Why McGough?
The McGough Internship Program provides a comprehensive view of a construction career, offering mentorship, networking opportunities, and real on-the-job experiences. You'll gain hands-on knowledge in Project Management while also being exposed to various roles across our organization. It’s a full-circle experience designed to kickstart your career.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Project Management Intern at McGough, you’ll be in the thick of the action, gaining hands-on experience that goes far beyond the textbook. We’re talking real projects, real challenges, and real impact. Your journey with us will include:
· Crafting and sending bid solicitation letters to subcontractors like a pro.
· Flexing your math skills with quantity take-offs (because numbers are your thing, right?).
· Diving into subcontractor bids and figuring out who’s got the goods.
· Helping make the big decisions with trade scope reviews and recap sheets.
· Drafting recommendation letters to owners—because your opinion matters.
· Keeping projects on track with regular schedule updates.
· Managing the RFI process (Requests for Information) like a detective on a mission.
· Overseeing submittals and keeping everything moving smoothly.
· Tracking punch lists and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
· Making sure project closeouts are as clean as your job site.
· Keeping an eagle eye on the Cost Control Log—because budgets are key.
· Participating in PM and corporate meetings where your voice will be heard.
· Taking part in training and development opportunities that’ll take your skills to the next level.
What We’re Looking For:
· You’re a junior or senior majoring in Construction Management or Construction Engineering (bonus points for field experience!).
· You thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy solving problems.
· Teamwork is your jam, but you’re also self-motivated and can take the lead when needed.
· Your communication skills (written and verbal) are top-notch.
