RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT:\n
The Spurwink accounting department serves many functions, including managing accounts receivable and payable, overseeing payroll processes, and conducting budget development and monitoring. In addition, the accounting department oversees Grant Accounting.\n
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:\n
As an intern, you will be able to assist the accounting team with the diverse work of their department. You will also be able to meet weekly with a cohort of interns to help form camaraderie, share your experiences, and learn from knowledgeable Spurwink employees.\n
REQUIREMENTS:\n\nHybrid Position (2 days in office\/ 2 days working from home)\nProgram Duration: 10 weeks (June 2nd - August 8th)\n4 days a week (8 hours per day)\nAbility to commute to the Greater Portland area two days a week.\nHave an interest in accounting.\nExperience with Microsoft 365.\nCreate a capstone project sharing educational goals, skills learned, and your experiences.\nAttend a weekly reflection session with a cohort of interns.\nAttend a weekly meeting with a supervisor.\n\n
QUALIFICATIONS: \n\nCandidates must exhibit enthusiasm for the work in the department and the mission of Spurwink Services.\nMust have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and critical thinking skills.\n\n
