The project will be development in collaboration with the Technical Research&Development group of GSK Vaccines in Siena. The project will allow GSK to apply a scientific modelling approach to understanding new generation unit operations and characterizations them and put in place way to scale up the unit operation.The intern gain experience on the modelling tools and on the biopharma industry. The graduate candidate will colaborate and work with GSK CFD experts on an innovative projects by using commercial software (Ansys Fluent) to increse understanding of unit operations and support the scaling activities. The software will be used to model a unit operation in process step in different process condition. The intern will use modelling tools and provied output to fill knowledge gaps. The intern will: Create a 3D geometry and the associated grids based on the selected case study Will select the appropriate equation and boundary condition to define the problem and will run the calculation using CFD software (Ansys Fluent) at simulation convergence evaluate and interprete the results. During the modelling process will keep track of the time and effort necessary to set the simulation runnin What will you learn? The intern will be responsible to run the above reported activities, with supervision of GSK CFD experts, for different process parameters different process condition. What is expected at the end of the project is to have a reliable evaluation: the quality of the results generated from CFD software Ansys fluent increase understanding of new generation unit operations and support the scaling activities The candidate will develop general knowledge of biopharma industrial processes being part of the DS development group, and will develop modelling competencies in CFD simulation.
