Job Description

YOUR TASKS

The team lead plays a critical role in overseeing tire build operations, ensuring production standards are met, while fostering a positive and productive environment. The team lead is responsible for supporting operators during break periods, troubleshooting issues, maintaining standards, and representing leadership through example.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Operator Relief & Support:Relieve tire build operators by running a machine during their breaks, ensuring production continuity.Assist with minor machine setups, including drum changes, segment adjustments for size changes, and die changes.Stabilize splice and alignment through machine adjustments to maintain production standards.Upholding Standards & Leadership:Lead by example in maintaining production quality, efficiency, and safety standards.Display a positive attitude and act as a role model for team members, ensuring adherence to established processes and expectations.Represent leadership with integrity and reliability, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.Material & Process Management:Ensure materials are available at machines and manage inventory for smooth operation.Assist with inventory checks and non-conforming material clean-up, ensuring materials meet production requirements.Verify and adjust recipe changes and working data to maintain process consistency.Mentorship & Team Development:Mentor and train new and existing team members on machine operation, safety, and process standards.Support supervision by assigning technical tasks and entering work orders as required.Foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment, promoting teamwork and a continuous improvement mindset.Follow all plant, ESH, CBS, quality, and department processes and proceduresOther duties as assigned

THE ENVIRONMENT

This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and safety shoes12-hour 2-2-3 pattern (panama) shift 6:45-7:00 (can be either days or nights) including every other weekend Include shift informationThis role is within a climate-controlled facilityThis role involves various physical tasks, including lifting and operating machinery, with comprehensive training providedThis role starts at $26.80 an hour. If internal candidates are offered, pay may change depending on current hourly rate

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Internal Candidates:Current tire build operator and certified on both KM & PUExternal Candidates:3 years’ experience in tire build at Continental Sumter with a minimum of 1 year experience as tire build set up technician, tire build lead or tire build senior operatorMust be willing to work selected shift for this positionLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
