**This is an internal only search open to current non-tenure track faculty with a .50-1.00 FTE appointment at the School of Business including Lecturers, Multi-term Lecturers, Professors of the Practice and Teaching Professors.**
This position is responsible for instruction at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in their area of specialty and is responsible for serving as the Assistant Area Director (AAD) within the Marketing (MKTG) academic area. The position is a non-tenure track faculty, academic year (9-month) appointment with an additional 28 days of administrative summer support pay. An official start date tentatively scheduled for August 18, 2025. Ideally, the candidate selected will work with the incumbent during the summer semester to ensure a smooth transition period. The School will work with the selected candidate on determining the best start date as arrangements may need to be made to cover existing and/or future commitments. The AAD reports directly to the MKTG Area Director.
This is a one-year appointment, contingent on performance, renewable indefinitely, and subject to the same terms that govern non-tenure track faculty appointments, evaluation, merit, etc.
The AAD portion of this position serves at the pleasure of the Dean. If the instructional appointment is terminated, the AAD role also terminates. However, termination of the AAD role will not necessarily impact the instructional portion of the appointment. The AAD must remain in good standing as an instructor. The position is open to current non-tenure-track faculty with a .50-1.00 FTE appointment within the School of Business, including Lecturers, Multi-term Lecturers, Professors of the Practice and Teaching Professors.
The AAD may not have other concurrent administrative appointments. Candidates with existing administrative appointments may apply but their existing administrative duties will need to be re-assigned if they are selected to serve as AAD.
The total FTE for the combined AAD/non-tenure track faculty position may not exceed 1.0 FTE. Candidates with instructional responsibilities in excess of .60 FTE will need to have those teaching responsibilities re-assigned if they are selected to serve in this role.
