Position Summary / Career Interest:Day and Night shift available

CA8 Internal Medicine is a 16-bed progressive care unit that cares for patients with acute and chronic illnesses. These illnesses include cancer diagnosis and symptom management, sepsis and various infections, and additional conditions that affect our internal organs including the heart, kidneys, liver, digestive system, respiratory, and vascular systems. We also care for patients with mental health disorders often admitted for suicidal ideation and anxiety and depression. Patient care is a collaborated approach with our multi-disciplinary and consulting teams. Each patient room is equipped with its own bedside monitor, ceiling lifts, large bathrooms to allow staff to easily assist patients with ADLs, a supply cart to easily access commonly used supplies, and more.

The Clinical Nurse II provides professional nursing care through assessment and accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation for the comfort and well-being of patients. Carries out a plan of care specific to unit competencies for the target patient population. Coordinates care delivery and education through collaboration with patient, family and all health care team providers to ensure safe, effective and quality patient care. Follows organizational policies in providing safe patient care. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and ExperienceHigh School Graduate Associate Degree Nursing For ADN prepared nurses hired after February 24, 2017, must complete BSN degree by the fifth anniversary of employment as an RN with UKHA 2 or more years experience as a Clinical Nurse
Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor Degree Nursing
Required Licensure and CertificationLicensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing (Kansas) or compact license Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
