An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Manager at Rolls-Royce. This role is critical in driving integration of activities across Rolls-Royce and provides the opportunity to be part of a high-energy team, working at pace to drive the transformation of Rolls-Royce at a pivotal point in its history. This role is part of the Internal Communications team that drive strategy and engagement of all employees globally and across all business divisions. It will suit a candidate who is able to plan and execute employee engagement activities in support of One Rolls-Royce – motivating and mobilizing employees through the use compelling content and active channel management. They will also have a deep understanding of the impact external communications can have to drive belief in our business strategy and employer of choice.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. Purpose of the role
Create narrative and develop communications campaigns targeting all staff and external stakeholders, drawing on the overall company narrative, in service of Rolls-Royce’s business objectives.Drive integration of common employee engagement and change activities across ET&SMeet high standards and best practice to support the transformation programme in support of a One Rolls-Royce mindset.Work with the rest of the Communications team to advise on and execute effective communications tactics to reach our key audiences, coordinating execution across our various internal and external owned-channels.Reduced tactical work, focus on select engagement campaigns prioritising those that overtly align with Rolls-Royce strategic direction and annual Communications strategy.What you will be doing:
The role reports to the SVP Internal Communications. Together with the VP Communications ET&S, support the delivery of the Business Capability strategy. Collaborate with other Communications business partners, VP Events and VP Channel and Content – to deliver compelling campaigns that engage employees, drive belief in our strategy and build trust in leadership.
Content strategy and planning: Use insight to shape the engagement plans to drive the culture change required, working in close partnership with the Chief of Staff, Transformation or People teams.
Determine the most appropriate channels to reach key audiences (digitally connected and non-connected work environments).Ensure colleagues and internal clients have clarity on the benefits of the recommended approach – identifying potential opportunities or issues.Engagement activity and content development: Using the corporate narrative, develop core messages and materials that use an audience-centric approach, reflects the tone/style of the messenger, provides cut through to connect with the readers and improves communication experiences across specific touchpoints.
Campaigns: Work directly with the Content and Channels team or preferred supplier to produce materials with a consistent corporate narrative that reflects the business strategy, priorities, and culture ambition via our owned channels.Storytelling: Collaborate with subject matter experts and broader networks to provide stories and proof-points which align to our global strategic pillars and set of behaviours e.g., safety Accountable/Responsible People, employee advocacy groups, site leaders.Insight: Regularly review insight and measurement data to evolve engagement tactics for relevancy and impact e.g., using metrics to gauge impact and outcome of campaignsInnovation and best practice: Seek out and apply innovative, creative and best practice that can be shared across the Communications team. Develop strong working relationship with external partners or agencies to ensure the commercial value of work commissioned.
Crisis communications: Stay abreast of industry and divisional environment, in preparedness for any eventuality. Coordinate with SVP External Communications Civil & ET&S and crisis response teams to provide guidance to leadership or site representatives to respond promptly and appropriately e.g., during times of crisis, managing sensitive people or potential employee relations issues.
