As an independent function, the GAA department helps ensure that our governance, risk management, and internal controls are top-notch—key to reaching our organizational goals and strategies. What You'll Do:

Contribute to audit planning: Collaborate with senior auditors to gather and analyze data, assess risks, and develop strategies to ensure effective audit execution.

Execute audit testing work: Participate in executing audit testing procedures under the guidance of experienced auditors. This involves conducting detailed examinations of financial records, internal controls, and operational processes to verify compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Assist in researching recommendations for identified control weaknesses: Assist in researching and developing recommendations to address identified control weaknesses. This task will involve conducting thorough analyses, proposing practical solutions, and documenting findings in audit reports.

What You’ll Bring:

Data Analysis and Visualization: We're excited to find someone who has hands-on experience with analyzing large datasets and crafting engaging visualizations that effectively communicate results and key messages to a variety of stakeholders.

Power BI Proficiency: Experience with MS Power BI is a bonus, but if you’re eager to get up to speed with it quickly, we’d love to hear from you!

Collaborative Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to interact, communicate, and collaborate effectively with others to achieve desired outcomes.

Location: Remote within the US. You must be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington

Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Internal Audit, Accounting, Risk Management, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Education, Economics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related fields.

Internship Cohort Dates: 27 January – 25 April. 

Stipend: this internship is unpaid, but all US-based interns receive a monthly stipend of $800.

Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours/week)

Eligibility

All candidates must meet the following requirements:

At least 18 years of age.

Eligible to work in the United States (US Citizen/resident or F1-student visa) and have a valid US Social Security Number.

Able to commit to at least 20 hours per week for the entire internship period: 27 January – 25 April. 

Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate/graduate programme (within 2 years).

Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.

Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.
