Intern Maintenance US
Refresco
Program Overview:
This program will be open to students in good standing at the school who have completed at least two semesters of relevant coursework. Applicants must submit a resume and/or application detailing their qualifications to the Maintenance Manager and HR Department. Each intern applicant will undergo a written basic skills assessment and participate in a face-to-face interview with the department manager. Interns will be assigned a mentor and must shadow them at all times. They will not be allowed to work without mentor supervision or other leadership present. The company's capacity to host interns at any given time depends on the availability of full-time maintenance staff to serve as mentors. The internship is a mutually agreed-upon arrangement that can be terminated in writing by Refresco, the school, or the intern, individually or collectively, at any time.Work Requirements:
Interns must adhere to the company's attendance policy. Interns are required to use the company's timekeeping system. Interns must follow the company's Work Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices. The program's working hours are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise agreed upon by the company and the school. Interns will not work on Saturdays or Sundays under any circumstances. Interns will not work beyond 5 pm, regardless of the start time. Work quality and quantity will be regularly assessed by management, and a weekly report will be provided to the school department head unless otherwise requested by the school. To ensure safety, interns must wear a company-provided shirt or vest that distinguishes them from full-time employees while they are on company premises.Disqualification from the program:
Disqualification may occur if the quality and/or quantity of work falls below company expectations. Non-compliance with the company's attendance policy or Work Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices. Failure to meet the minimum GPA requirements agreed upon by the school and company.Advancement to Full Time Employment:
The company recognizes the financial challenges associated with acquiring the necessary tools for job tasks. Given this, the company is willing to provide the tools at no cost to the employee, provided they commit to a two-year period of employment. An abbreviated apprenticeship may be offered to interns who successfully complete the program and meet or exceed the following criteria: Graduated with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Met the company’s attendance policy. Received no discipline during the internship. Achieved a minimum of “Meets Expectations” on all reports to the school.
