As an Integration and Test Engineering Intern, you will support the Optical Integration and Test team by assisting with daily tasks and internal development projects aimed at improving optical system manufacturing, testing methods and data processing. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
Following detailed instructions and executing tasks assigned by mentor or team member Gaining hands-on experience in optics manufacturing through guided participation across multiple departments Assisting with the design, development, and execution of optical tests for optical assemblies Participating in engineering meetings and discussions to enhance collaboration and technical knowledge
Education & Experience
Must be currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate program in engineering or science. Preferred majors: Industrial Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in multiple engineering disciplines, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills. Not all skills listed below are required but are considered advantageous:
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of optical test and integration processes. Ability to interpret and create mechanical drawings. Experience with optical design software such as ZEMAX. Familiarity with core concepts in mechanical, optical, aerospace, and software engineering. Exposure to computer programming and CAD software.Academic or Professional Experience in:
