Our Internship Program is designed to provide students with unique experiences in their field of interest while providing valuable insight into other key areas of the business. T. Marzetti is looking for an Intern to join the Engineering Team in the summer of 2025! Over the course of our 12-week program, our interns will gain: Practical Experience: Take ownership in meaningful projects and share innovative ideas to gain relevant experience in Continuous Improvement. Professional Development: Develop your professional network by connecting with colleagues, managers, and fellow interns through social activities, volunteer opportunities, and development sessions with company leadership. Career Advancement: Potential for part-time and full-time employment based on your performance and the company’s needs. Responsibilities Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements. Prepare detailed reports and dashboards to support decision-making. Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis on production inefficiencies or quality issues using tools such as the 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams and propose corrective actions. Process Improvement Projects: Assist in the design and implementation of process improvement projects, utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality. Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Participate in TPM initiatives, including preventive maintenance planning, equipment efficiency optimization, and autonomous maintenance activities. Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on reducing cycle times, improving yields, and minimizing downtime. Training & Knowledge Sharing: Assist in training production staff on Lean tools and techniques, promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the facility. Documentation & Standardization: Help create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent application of best practices. Qualifications Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with a focus in: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent. Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills Demonstrates sound judgment and applies logical thinking when creating solutions Demonstrates curiosity and initiative Displays a professional, positive attitude with team members Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office® applications, specifically Microsoft Excel Preferred: Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis Skilled in conducting root cause analysis using methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or other problem-solving tools to address production challenges. Preferred: Knowledge of TPM or Lean Methodologies Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean principles, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and reducing waste.
