Overview:

Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) offers internship and co-op opportunities to high-performing college students who want meaningful hands-on experiences in their fields of study. Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work side-by-side with members of the Asphalt Marketing & Technology Group to provide technical support in the manufacturing, testing, distribution, sales, and customer interaction related to asphalt binders. 

Roles and Responsibilities will include:

Learn the formulations, testing procedures, applications and use, modification techniques, rheological characteristics, chemistry and performance of asphalt and heavy oil products.Monitors product quality by following quality control standards and procedures to ensure the manufacture of quality asphalt and heavy oil products from the refinery or terminal source through the transportation and distribution systems.Works with experienced Asphalt Technologists to respond to technical issues related to customer satisfaction concerning product specification and performance, product advantages and/or competition.Maintains the highest level of professional  and ethical conduct, and health and safety standards within the industry.

Qualifications:

Concurrent enrollment in a bachelor’s or higher degree program majoring in Civil Engineering for the duration of the experience with strong academic performanceCandidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time indefinite basis for our Company without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the futureMilitary experience a plusMicrosoft Office

Travel Expected: 

Up to 10%
