Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern is responsible for working with Manufacturing Engineers and business unit managers supporting projects and operations of various CNC machining centers in order to facilitate production. This effort includes, but is not limited to assist in the development of processes for manufacturing in accordance with ISO-13485. This individual works with department managers, supervisors, and operators to ensure product quality and throughput.

Essential Functions:

Work closely with others to support physical production process reviews, mapping, and translation of CNC machining and finishing activities into the manufacturing execution systemProvide testing support for manufacturing execution system software implementationSupport the development and maintenance of production work instructionsProvide engineering support and assistance for quality assurance activities as neededSupport equipment installation, equipment and process qualifications/documentation, and facilities modifications/upgrades as neededInteract cross-functionally with various other internal teams within Operations, Quality, IT, Supply Chain, and FinanceAssist Operations Team in identifying process improvement opportunitiesMiscellaneous technical generation and analysisDrive cycle time improvements through value stream mapping and lean principles related to MachineProcessing:SMED/Change over OptimizationCapacity/dedicated machining centersPQPR AnalysisMachine Scheduling/Visual ManagementAdheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policiesEnsures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your roleRepresents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalentIn pursuit of Bachelor's degree in an Engineering disciplineMust be currently enrolled in school with a successful completion of 2 years of undergraduate studies (minimum of 60 credit hours towards Bachelor’s degree)Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0Ability to provide college transcripts as well as a letter of recommendation from a faculty memberCandidates are responsible for their own housing and transportation during the internshipMust be eligible to work in the United States
