Join a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex systems for space within Honeywell Aerospace. We are integral in building system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Apply engineering knowledge, tools, and principals to develop systems for current space optical instrumentation hardware developments and on preparatory studies for new space optical and science instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
•Work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to develop complex next-gen optical telescopes and instruments for space communications and deep-space research
•Low level software tasks such as hardware interfaces, bit-wise and byte-wise operations, and endianness
•High level software tasks such as desktop applications and scripting
•Interacting with various TCP/IP and serial commercial equipment
•Code modification, review, creation, documentation, verification, and validation
•Requirements and design analysis
You Must Have
•Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
•Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, and Python
•Knowledge of object-oriented and scripting programming
•Be graduating in 2026 or 2027
•Must continue enrollment in degree or related program upon completion of this coop position
Internship is available from May – December 2025
The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.
•Knowledge of embedded systems
•Knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms
•Understanding various software development methodologies and tools
•Demonstrate ability and passion to develop efficient and high-quality software
•Knowledge of software configuration management and version control practices
•Ability to write effective technical documentation.
