Job Description

Firmware Validation engineer for test development and validation of HDD/NAND FLASH storage devices. Will be part of development of test specifications, reviews, test development, failure analysis, debug, test coverage and lab infrastructure bring up for customized Western Digital embedded NAND FLASH and HDD storage device.

Responsible for understanding the Firmware Design and coming up with test casesCommunicating the Requirements in a precise mannerDeveloping test scripts and executing them on HardwareDebugging the failures coming from RegressionArticulate the issue to the stake holdersAbility to understand, debug the Firmware/Simulator codeUnderstand product and Firmware features, develop test strategies with device, host and simulation environments. Grey box, Black box validation strategies.Test design and Code reviews, test script development, validation/regression testing Become the subject matter expert, owner of one or more components and provide technical leadership.

QualificationsHands on experience in Python.Working Knowledge of any HDD/NAND product is a plusLow level firmware/software debug skills and any storage protocols are a plusThe ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment.Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.Self-motivated, self-directed and ability to work well with people.Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.Knowledge and experience in the use of bus analyzers, JTAG, emulators and other firmware debugging tools.
