Job Description

As a Development intern you will work with a team of engineers and industry professionals in one or several of the following areas:

Hardware Development:

This may include both mechanical or electrical HW and activities may include: modeling various aspects of drive/controller systems, lab testing, prototype evaluation, technology investigations, and small design projects. Areas of work may be control systems, motor electromagnetics, and digital/analog electronics, product design and development

Hardware Test:

If you like pushing products to their limits to meet the rigid standards of industrial components, you will be interested in these activities, which include: design and development of scripts for automating test procedures, documenting of test procedures, execution of test procedures for verification of product functionality (manual/automated), creation of test reports, assistance with lab audit/improvement activities, assist with build and commissioning of test hardware platforms.

You will have the opportunity to be a significant contributor, while getting comprehensive exposure to the business structure of Rockwell Automation and how we are helping our customers bring the Connected Enterprise to life.

​Basic Qualifications:

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future.

​Preferred Qualifications:

Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar from an accredited college or university Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 Preference given to students met on campus, at a national recruiting event, through a Rockwell Automation-hosted event or a targeted recruiting campaign Preference give to students who have had prior intern or co-op with Rockwell Automation in the past Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Software Engineering Basic computer programming (C++, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript)Experience with industrial automation environments including PLC or drives programming Previous experience with Industrial Automation products Experience using Agile methodology
