**JOB SUMMARY:**

We offer students the opportunity to spend a summer working at one of Securitas’ US Operating Centers. This internship program offers current college students real-world application of business within the North America Shared Services organization. You will participate in a 10 week internship located in Westlake Village, CA for 32-40 hours per week.
As an **IT Communications Intern** , you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to real-world projects and gaining valuable experience in the field of IT communications. You will have an opportunity to share new perspectives, fresh ideas, specialized strengths, and technical skills to help grow our business.
Successful completion of the internship program could lead to a return internship for the following summer or employment at the organization in the future.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
• Assist in creating clear, concise, and engaging communication materials such as newsletters, emails, intranet updates, and presentations.
• Support the preparation and delivery of IT communications to employees across the organization.
• Help coordinate IT announcements, system updates, and maintenance schedules.
• Contribute to content creation for the IT department’s internal knowledge base and documentation.
• Monitor and respond to internal IT inquiries or feedback regarding communication materials.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather information and ensure cross-departmental alignment on IT initiatives.
• Assist in organizing virtual meetings, webinars, or workshops related to IT training or updates.
• Provide administrative support to the IT communications team as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY**
Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.
**Education/Experience:**
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Communications, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiarity with the collaboration tool Microsoft Teams is a plus.
• Exceptional written communication skills, demonstrated through project work or other relevant experiences.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Creative and proactive with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Effective communication: Must have the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

• Travel: 0-10%
• Schedule will be hybrid, with 3 days on-site expected.
