Contribute, and be a team member for air quality projects for facilities (including aggregate extraction and processing, power generation facilities, industrial/manufacturing facilities and municipal facilities), transportation projects, Land Use Compatibility assessments, etc.
What you will do at WSP
+ Listen, interpret and understand client needs, and develop clear, science-based approaches to developing solutions that meet client expectations.
+ Coordinate and learn from senior staff on project work including monitoring, modelling, development of abatement strategies, and regulatory liaison. Contribute to technical oversight and review of regulatory projects including ECAs, EASRs and EAs. This includes providing guidance to junior staff on the team.
+ Coordination and implementation of business development activities related to air quality services including identification of opportunities, proposal development and client liaison.
+ Work with client managers and business unit leads to development business to identify, support and pursue air quality related opportunities.
+ Business travel upon request
+ Experience in air quality related work is considered a must, including:
+ An understanding of federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations pertaining to air quality including air approvals using standard and alternative methods (eg. site-specific standards, industry/technical standards, etc.).
+ Contribute to the preparation of emission summary and dispersion modelling reports (ESDMs) and other air impact assessments to support ECAs, EASRs, and EAs.
+ Proficient with AERMOD, CALPUFF, MOVES4 and other dispersion and emissions models to conduct technical reviews.
+ Demonstrated abilities in project teamwork and client relationship building.
+ Ability to work independently and thrive in an environment that provides quality, solution-oriented consulting services.
+ Ability to technically review PHAST models and/or CMAQs is considered an asset.
+ Familiarity and Experience with MECP's environmental land use planning guides (D-series Guidelines) and experience in the application of D-series Guidelines in land use compatibility assessments is considered an asset.
+ Experience with GHG quantification, life cycle analysis, and mitigation is considered an asset.
+ Carrying out air quality and greenhouse gas emissions assessments, independently or as part of a larger group, which consists of: emission source inventory development, data analysis, detailed calculations, atmospheric dispersion modelling and reporting.
+ Some field work including emission source identification, data collection, fugitive dust sampling and ambient air quality monitoring.
+ Assisting in the preparation of proposals and project reports as directed.
+ Assisting with business development and client support under the direction of senior staff.
+ Collaborating with other technical staff in Ontario and Canada.

+ You have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Applied Science or Engineering.
+ 3-8 years previous experience working in the environmental sciences profession
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
+ You have excellent English (verbal /written) communication skills.
+ You have solid organizational skills (prioritization, time management, record keeping, follow up, tracking).
+ You enjoy field work, and are comfortable and can demonstrate competency in driving in remote and off-road settings.
+ Experience in environmental consulting, knowledge of industrial processes (specifically mining) is an asset.
