Role accountabilities:

Our Houston office is seeking an Interior Designer to join our team! The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and have an interest in educational design projects We are looking for a creative, organized, and self-motivated individual who is a self-starter and can work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent presentation and documentation abilities.

A solid understanding of finish materials, furniture, FF&E, and applicable reference standards is essential. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of building and accessibility codes/standards and be capable of delegating tasks, mentoring, and training intermediate and junior designers.

The ability to multi-task, follow through on assignments, and meet deadlines is crucial. Additionally, strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative and an excellent team player, with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the role.

You will work on:

Individuals will work in all aspects of design – programming, space planning, material selections/specifications, construction documents and furniture selection/specificationParticipate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting. Actively participate in the construction document processMeets with finish and furniture vendorsParticipates in meetings and can present to clients.Manage multiple projects to deliver all phases of the projectDemonstrate a clear understanding of the architectural design process and how to effectively integrate interior elements and concepts with minimal supervisionReview preliminary space plans and design concepts to ensure code, accessibility, and functional requirements are metReview shop drawings and submittalsProduce innovative design concepts that meet the client and project needs while also respecting the project budgetContribute to and develop solutions to technical and design problemsConceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization, including graphics

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

Required

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design5 years’ relevant interior design experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Experience with REVIT and AUTOCAD software

Preferred:

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) and Enscape
