A Glasgow-based client is actively seeking an interim Financial Accountant for a 12-month position. The successful candidate will lead joint venture reporting, oversee onshore and offshore projects, ensure timely financial reporting, and maintain compliance with business requirements and control standards.
Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will include, but will not be limited to:
Lead joint venture reporting for key projects and potential divestmentsManage offshore billing and recharges, ensuring compliance with agreementsGuide financial accounting compliance with group policy and IFRS, strengthening controlsConduct monthly balance sheet reviews to identify trends and reporting issuesAssist in financial close processes, addressing any reporting challengesReview decommissioning provisions for onshore and offshore windfarmsEnsure accurate reporting, compliance, and robust processes for new transactionsExecute and update internal controls as neededFoster a proactive, improvement-focused team environment and build stakeholder relationships
The successful Financial Accountant will require the following skills and experience:
Qualified accountant with strong financial accounting expertise and capability to assess and address technical issuesProficient in relevant IT applications, especially SAP-BPCExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levelsStrong influencing, organisational, and analytical abilitiesKnowledgeable in control environment requirements with the ability to integrate them into work practicesCommercially savvy, results-driven, and self-motivated professional
