Intelligence Specialist
Job Description Under general supervision, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following: - Preparing detailed referrals and executive summary reports in furtherance of administrative, civil, criminal prosecutions - Conducting research in furtherance of enforcement and investigative initiatives - Gathering, analyzing, and developing intelligence - Managing a caseload of enforcement initiatives and case leads - Conducting interviews of subjects and witnesses, and writing and reviewing lengthy, narrative reports - Utilizing various databases and web-based programs to verify and gather information and research public records - Reviewing and evaluating investigative reports, recommendations, enforcement actions and orders issued by agency staff - Interpreting rules, regulations, codes, and policies - Evaluating statistical reports and data in furtherance of case lead development - Testifying at administrative hearings, and civil and criminal trials - Coordinating and planning operations and field work Additional Information Unless the lists for Associate Investigator are exhausted, only permanent Associate Investigators, applicants who are reachable on the Associate Investigator civil service list, and applicants as indicated below will be considered will be considered. Candidates who are permanent in comparable civil service titles may be considered for title change under rule 6.1.9 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the City of New York. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory, full-time experience as an investigator evaluating credit worthiness, searching for assets, verifying information concerning education, experience, and other personal qualifications bearing upon character and fitness for employment, or performing investigations involving the research, compilation and/or location of evidence or information in order to build a case or uncover activities of a criminal, corrupt, unlawful or unethical nature; or 2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in "1" above; or 3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in "1" above; or 4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.
