Instrumentation & Controls Engineer
Responsibilities:
Design, Review, and Approval: Prepare, review, coordinate, check, and approve instrumentation and control drawings, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and client requirements. Project Execution and Compliance: Produce designs that meet project and company standards for serviceability, safety, and operability, while utilizing SharePoint or other filing systems. Collaboration and Meetings: Attend design group meetings in a 3D environment, review P&ID drawings, and provide guidance on instrumentation and control systems to project staff. Technical Oversight: Review supplier documentation, contractor proposals, and perform site inspections, including factory acceptance tests and commissioning support. Reporting and Flexibility: Prepare project close-out reports, respond to technical queries, and be willing to travel to project sites, including hardship locations, as needed. Qualifications & Experience:
BSc. Degree, BTech or National Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Control Engineering ECSA registration as Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist Engineer (or working towards registration). 4 to 6 years’ working experience in a project engineering environment, preferably within the resources & minerals processing industry in Africa.
