Instrumentation & Controls Designer

Our client, a leading engineering and design firm in the oil and gas industry, is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Designer to join their team. As an Instrumentation & Controls Designer, you will be part of a dynamic team supporting various projects in the oil and gas and refinery sectors. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully with the organization.

Job Title: Instrumentation & Controls Designer

Location: Long Beach, CA

Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000

What's the Job?

Collaborate with project teams to design, develop, and implement instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for oil and gas and refinery projects, adhering to industry standards and regulations. Utilize AutoCAD to create and modify detailed design drawings and documentation. Participate in field verification and user requirements gathering walk-downs at client sites. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in instrumentation and control engineering. Support project teams in managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What's Needed?

High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or technical certification in drafting, design, or a related field is a plus. 1-3 years of experience as a designer, field technician, or draftsperson in the oil and gas or refinery industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems is preferred; experience with other design software (e.g., MicroStation) is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
