Instrument and Control Technician

Responsibilities:
OPPD's Maintenance Services Department is seeking to hire an individual to join their team!
This position will assist in the maintenance, installation and inspection of power plant instrumentation and control equipment and systems.
Specific accountabilities of this role include:
+ Assist in the testing and calibration of instruments and controls and associated power station equipment and assist in maintaining test equipment.
+ Responsible for proper care of tools and economical use of supplies and keeping work area clean.
+ Perform task related to the use and handling of hazardous material.
+ Become familiar with the instrument record system and assist in the maintaining of records and files.
+ Perform station housekeeping duties in assigned areas.
+ Learn and maintain electronic equipment such as Allen Bradley PLC¿s, Distributed Control Systems and programmable microprocessors.
Qualifications
This role will be filled commensurate on experience at the applicable (Senior Technician, Apprentice, and Helper) based on the candidate's knowledge and experience. The position description used in this posting is representative of an (Apprentice) .
Helper
Required:
+ High School diploma or GED, with 1-2 years of experience or education in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
+ Requires a high degree of mechanical, electrical, electronic ability.
+ Experience or training in electrical maintenance in power station or related industry work.
+ Must have good communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
+ A valid driver's license.
+ Maintenance employees must obtain unescorted access and meet all other requirements to work at Fort Calhoun Station.
Desired:
+ Completion of an Associate¿s Degree in Electronics, or completion of a related industrial education program, such as ISA certification, or equivalent training desirable.
+ Ability to work from electronic and electrical drawings.
Apprentice
Required:
+ Requires an Associate's Degree in Electronics or completion of a related industrial education program such as ISA certification or armed forces formal training.
+ Requires a high degree of mechanical aptitude; a knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics; experience in related power plant work; and a valid driver's license.
+ Familiarity with power plant operations as well as instrumentation and control systems and a basic understanding of computer programming and PLC ladder logic desirable.
+ Must have good communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
+ Must be available for overtime work as required. May be required to report to any job headquarters within the District.
Senior I&C:
Required:
+ Requires an Associate's Degree in Electronics; completion of a related industrial education program such as ISA Certification or equivalent training
+ Prior experience maintaining electronic equipment such as PLC's, Distributed Control Systems and microprocessors
+ Requires a high degree of mechanical, electrical and electronic ability, training or experience in a work-related area in a fossil generation station.
+ Must be able to work from electronic and electrical drawings.
+ Must experience with overall computer programs (Word, Outlook etc.)
+ Must have good communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
