Faculty Appointment Type Non-Tenure Track Term (if applicable) 9 month Begin Date of Appointment 08/11/2025 Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt General Function The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities. Description of Primary Duties Instructor NT-9 month appt. in the Classics section of the Department of Languages, Cultures and Religions. This position will assist in offering courses in the Classical Languages of Greek and Latin, General Education courses such as LLT 121 Classical Mythology and LLT 180 From Hero to Superhero, the LLT 102 Scientific and Medical Terminology course, and elective courses for the Classical Humanities Minor and the Classical Languages and Medical Humanities certificates. It will have a 4-4 teaching load, with the possibility of teaching a Gen. Ed course in summer terms. Appropriate levels of committee service, student advising, and club advising are also expected. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines is required. Potential or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. Additional Qualifications - Ph.D. or ABD in Classics or related field- At least two years of university-level teaching experience- Experience teaching online- Experience utilizing a variety of teaching methods and curricular approacheswhich promote diversity.
