Instructional-Track Assistant Professor of Statistics
University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: Academic Center: School of Arts & Sciences: Mathematics **Salary Range or Pay Grade** $75,000-$95,000 **Description** The University of Rochester’s Statistics Program seeks applications for the position of a full-time instructional-track (non-tenure) assistant professor. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for teaching who will contribute to our undergraduate Statistics curriculum and growing Actuarial Studies certificate program. A successful candidate will be expected to have strong teaching skills and to demonstrate a thoughtful approach to statistical pedagogy. We are particularly seeking a candidate who has an interest in innovative pedagogical practices and strong computational experience to further engage students from diverse academic backgrounds. This position starts July 1, 2025. The focus of this position will be on instruction. Teaching load will be five courses per academic year that are a mixture of both introductory and intermediate-level courses. This position will be involved in the continued growth of the Statistics Program, helping to develop new courses relating to statistical computation and actuarial methodology. There will be an expectation for this position to advise undergraduate students pursuing Statistics degrees or related certificates. This position will also advise undergraduate research projects. **Qualifications** Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field, or equivalent experience. The preferred candidate will have a passion for college teaching and will demonstrate an interest in innovative statistical pedagogy. Candidates should have strong pedagogical and course management skills for large lectures (200 or more students) as well as smaller courses (40 or fewer students).
