Background
The America’s Regional Business Partnership (RBP), one of three RBPs within the company, currently manages donor-funded development projects funded by USAID, CDC, and others. These projects are implemented in approximately 90 countries around the world. To support this diverse and growing workforce, Palladium is seeking to further develop a partnership-wide training program and tools that will allow staff to apply improved competencies and skills for managing complex donor-funded programs worldwide. The current training curriculum covers the following content areas:
Financial ManagementHuman Resources ManagementAcquisition and AssistanceComplianceProject Start-Up/Close-OutSafety and SecurityRisk ManagementSustainable Business (ethics, environment, and safeguarding)The new training curriculums ideally include a blend of classroom-based trainings, e-learning, job aids, procedure manuals, etc that deliver engaging and effective learning experiences. In addition, Palladium is seeking to broaden the audience for these training activities to include key staff in project offices around the globe, so scalability of training materials will be preferable.Primary
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Instructional Designer Consultant will be responsible for the design of a comprehensive training program with clear learning strategies and with an element focused on behavioral change.
Specifically, the Instructional Designer Consultant will:
Conduct effective stakeholder, subject matter expert, and learner interviews for the identification and curation of relevant content for the end-learnerDesign training curriculums with proposed structure, platform, content, activities, and assessments that align to the identified learning objectivesReview existing training materials to identify appropriate platforms and content for e-learning modulesPropose improvements to enhance existing content, methodologies, tools, and templates to align to identified learning objectivesIdentify and apply technical and behavioral performance improvement solutions to help achieve learning objectivesDesign facilitator guides for various modes of training delivery and contentDesign evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness and learning retention, with a focus on behaviorally-based assessments and evaluation methodsAny other tasks assigned by the supervisor.Required Qualifications:
Instructional design experience working with faculty/instructors/subject matter experts to design, develop and support delivery of instruction.Demonstrated knowledge or expertise in the design of web-based training platforms for diverse, multi-national audiences.Ability to produce superior writing and communications products.Specialized experience in one or more of the above-mentioned content areas a plus.Supervision:
The Instructional Designer Consultant will report directly to the Senior Manager, Process Excellence, or his/her designate.
