Job Description The instructional designer will collaborate with faculty on the design and development of online courses and consult on topics related to learning design and technology integration. This position is eligible for full-time telework at the discretion of the department’s AVP . Job Duties Share instructional design principles, processes, and effective uses of technology with stakeholders to enhance teaching and learning: + Collaborate with faculty on the development of objectives aligned to instructional activities and assessments. + Collaborate with faculty on content generation, including editing and in some cases drafting instructional content. + Evaluate the effectiveness of design approaches. Design and develop media-rich instructional materials: + Perform front-end analyses, develop design documentation, conduct quality assurance reviews, and evaluate learning using formative evaluation techniques. + Research and appropriately integrate technology into the design of instructional materials. Effectively manage projects: + Develop high-level and detailed project schedules, track progress against milestones, and ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner. + Ensure ongoing communication of project status to team members and management. + Proactively identify and manage risks to successful project completion and implementation. Perform other duties as assigned, including: + Stay current on topics and methodologies that support assigned job duties. + Collaborate with staff to brainstorm ideas and solve problems, check that specifications are clear and achievable, and ensure that the design intent is realized. + Identify design or process issues and analyze solutions to inform design standards, templates, and processes.
