Instructional Designer

As the Instructional Designer you will own the creation of training curriculum for both customers and sales team members in support of our Consumer Power sales goals.  Training will be new onboarding, professional skills, leadership skills, functional/technical skills, systems training, and process training. The position collaborates closely with sales leadership, marketing, channel management and product teams to ensure training content is best-in-class and consistent across the omni-channel environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with subject matter experts, at various levels of the organization, to obtain objectives, content, and agreement with maximum efficiency and professionalism Design and develop training materials using blended, adult learning principles/ methodologies, and established team standards and best practices.  

Key classroom curriculum consists of fully illustrated visual presentations, learner's guides, job aids, role-play exercises and handouts.  

Online curriculum development includes preparing content for audio recording and editing, creating visual elements and supporting the development team by working with authoring software such as Articulate 360 Suite as needed.  

Manage and maintain curriculum, materials and process documentation as needed or requested. Oversee training program implementation and execution.   Other responsibilities may include presenting the curriculum to stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or other technical discipline OR equivalent work experience

Demonstrated instructional design development portfolio.   

3 years’ experience working in training/learning in an instructional design capacity.

Familiarity with adult learning principles and/or the ADDIE model. 

Experience using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). 

Previous experience using Articulate 360 Suite (Storyline, Rise, etc.), Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, TechSmith Camtasia or Adobe Premiere. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience of video editing.

Previous experience with sales enablement curriculum and customer facing audiences.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working simultaneously on multiple projects, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes. 

Demonstrated communication skills. 

Self-driven, highly motivated, flexible and with a high capacity to learn.  Experience working in a corporate environment preferred.   

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
