Instructional Designer

Instructional Designer – F/T closed period contract role to 31 July 2025, Parramatta CBD as a base with some travel involved.

Create diverse training materials for various user groups to promote effective adoption and use of the new HRIS. Work closely with HRIS implementation team, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to assess needs, gather requirements, and design a structured training program aligned with project goals and timelines. Lead training sessions and workshops, both in-person and virtual, to educate users on HRIS functions, data entry standards, reporting tools, and best practices. Base Salary + Super and NFP Salary Packaging Benefits (extra $18,550 tax-free) - Take home more pay.

Role Purpose:

This position involves creating compelling and inventive training content across online and offline formats, such as self-paced e-learning modules, and utilising diverse platforms. This effort will be carried out in partnership with essential stakeholders and subject matter experts to facilitate the adoption of our new Human Resources Information System (HRIS) through the creation of tailored learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Processes

Plan, design and author a range of training materials including strategy documentation, design briefs, storyboards, trainer guides, participant handbooks, e-learning modules and other materials, using a blended learning format. Translate complex, technical specifications and outputs into training material for various audiences. Design training material that is appropriate for the intended audience and follow Uniting’s industry standards including relevant style guides. Participate in and comply with all quality management systems and processes.

Client Management:

Engage with the Learning@Uniting Team, the HRIS Project Team and other key stakeholders to gain a clear picture of the project’s training and education needs and understand the products which are to be developed. Maintain a high standard of conduct and work performance to promote our reputation with key internal and external stakeholders. Ensure integration and collaboration with other key members of the People Experience function to deliver seamless and impactful end to end employee experiences.

People Management:

Actively engage and participate in Uniting’s performance management framework and review processes. Act in a manner that upholds and positively reflects Uniting’s Code of Conduct. Contribute to a culture of openness, feedback and productivity.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Design, or related subject or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience. Demonstrated ability using other common digital learning tools e.g. MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, etc. Extensive experience in the creation of a range of engaging learning products for face to face, online and self-paced learning formats. Demonstrated ability using the Articulate Storyline authoring tool. Knowledge of adult learning principles, training design, planning, and organising methods.
