Purpose of Job

Execute on day-to-day operations and assist with coordination of activities within the OT (Operation Technology) segments of the organisation whilst acting as a key contributor to support the design, implementation, administration, maintenance and monitoring of OT systems and services. Assisting the various businesses units in ad-hoc RCAs, confirmation studies for adherence to best practises, specifications, and procedures. The technical and project tracks on a day-to-day basis to ensure correct resource allocation of time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and benefits that indicate timeous resourcing needs towards the execution of projects and support to operations.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

As an OT system engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our operational technology systems. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and security of our OT infrastructure. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and deploying OT systems to support industrial processes and operations. • Configuring and optimizing OT devices and control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and industrial networks. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate OT systems with IT infrastructure and business applications. • Monitoring OT systems performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity. • Implementing cybersecurity measures to protect OT systems from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. • Conducting risk assessments and implementing best practices for OT system security and compliance. • Providing technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams. • Documenting OT system configurations, procedures, and standards. Relationship and stakeholder: Provide high quality reporting to stakeholders (i.e. Month end integrity reports, engineering design documentation, incident investigation reports etc). Show influencing and negotiation skills, maturity and emotional intelligence. Safety: Ensure compliance with legal, safety, operational reliability and MOC requirements. Ensure that safety objectives and required end user training requirements are met for each MOC implementation. Operations management and planning: Apply analytical skills to support root cause analyses. Contribute in the translation and execution of the technical support strategy. Translate and cascade goals and long-term plans through effective two-way communication in the organisation. Ensure correct resource allocation and indicate resourcing needs timeously towards the execution of projects and support of operations. Assess alternate design configurations and identify functional and non-functional requirements for various operational technology and processes. Manage the incident response program, monitor incidents and systems and execute responses. Project management and execution: Prioritise and plan all OT related projects to address business requirements according to established engineering principles. Governance: Follow governance for plant modifications and manage discipline specific project risks. Maintain discipline specific systems, tools, policies and procedures. Maintain OT policies and standards (including internal and external policy compliance). Maintain Cyber Security Architecture and providing security guidance on the design of applications and network architectures. Continuous improvement, work standards and quality: Adhere to work standards and ensure they are met according to quality, quantity and due dates. Ensure quality of design, EOJ documentation etc. Take responsibility to drive initiatives which improves delivery and competitiveness. Competency development: Facilitate knowledge sharing and innovation. Continuously update own knowledge and skills in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing technologies and to ensure critical competencies are developed. Develop technical and engineering skills of EITs through coaching.

University Bachelor's Degree
