Join our dynamic team as an Inspection Specialist in Lyon, France, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and safety of pressure vessels and piping systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment within the engineering sector, collaborating with top professionals in the field.
Role Overview
Collaborate with technical teams, particularly with Processes, Piping, and Equipment specialists. Specify corrosion control and monitoring systems, selecting appropriate materials based on corrosion risks. Review technical documentation from subcontractors during EPC phases. Apply knowledge of design and manufacturing codes for pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrication. Ensure compliance with NDE standards such as ASME, EN, ISO, AWS, ASTM. Manage documentation related to the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Oversee material fabrication and weldability assessments for various steel types and alloys. Conduct inspections and tests including pressure tests, ferrite tests, and hardness tests. Participate in technical meetings and site visits as required by projects. Provide technical support for NCR resolution and assist quality control managers. Offer on-site support to address technical issues related to NDT from construction sites/suppliers. Proactively identify and resolve issues while interacting with engineering teams, suppliers, and contractors.Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Fluency in English. Strong knowledge of NDT techniques and standards. Familiarity with corrosion control and monitoring systems. Understanding of ASME, EN, ISO, AWS, ASTM codes. Experience with Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Expertise in material fabrication processes and weldability of various steels and alloys. Knowledge of forging processes, valve manufacturing, and heat treatment processes. Ability to interpret drawings and manufacturing inspection documents such as ITP and FQCP.Education & Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred. Certifications: Relevant certifications in NDT or quality assurance are advantageous. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in inspection roles within the engineering or manufacturing sectors.Pay & Benefits
