Inspection Coordinator** We are looking for a Inspection Coordinator to join our GEC team in Freeport,TX **Come create chemistry with us!** The role of a Pressure Vessel Inspection Coordinator involves overseeing inspections, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for stationary or fixed equipment in industrial settings. This includes equipment like boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, piping, and other structures that are permanently installed. The position also supports capital and expense project by performing or coordinating Quality Control and Vendor Surveillance inspections as requested. **As a Inspection Coordinator, you create chemistry by...** • Directing and coordinating the activities of contract examiners and inspectors to execute routine, shutdown, and turnaround inspections and tests on stationary equipment and piping. • Planning and scheduling inspection work based upon the PM/PdM schedule, including support crafts, such as scaffolding and insulation. This includes containment inspections for PSM Instruments. • Providing technical knowledge and expertise, including coaching and mentoring of contractors, to ensure inspections, tests and reporting are in accordance with corporate, federal, state, and local inspection and testing requirements as follows: • Visual Inspections (VT), Ultrasonic Thickness (UT), Ultrasonic Shear Wave Ultrasonic (UTSW), Ultrasonic Flaw Detection (UTFD), Eddy Current Tube Testing (ET), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiography (RT), B Scans, C Scans, Guided Wave Technology, etc • Ensuring mechanical integrity programs are in place, implemented and properly documented, including inspection/testing and preventive/predictive maintenance programs (vessel/piping, PSV, boiler code, vibration monitoring, etc.) • Ensuring development, maintenance, and availability of equipment files and up to date drawings, including P&IDs, x-ray records/files, etc. • Coordinating and leading meetings with business units to discuss the inspections scheduled versus inspections completed for each unit on site. • Creating and managing monthly compliance inspection report to ensure nested contractors are completing all inspection per the compliance deadline. • Maintaining process documentation associated with workflows and contract administration. • Developing detailed repair/welding procedures using BASF procedures/guidelines and applicable codes (API 510, API 570, API 650, API 653, B31.3, Sec. VIII, and Section IX). **If you have...** 1. Educational Background • API certifications (e.g., API 510, API 570, API 653) Requiring at least 2 of the 3. • ASNT knowledge in relevant NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, RT) are also required. • Knowledge of Section 8 Division 1 and Section 9 of the ASME code. 2. Experience • Relevant Experience in inspection, maintenance, or mechanical integrity roles with minimum of 5 years’ experience. • Industry-Specific Experience in sectors like oil and gas, chemical processing, energy, or manufacturing is preferred. • Leadership Experience in coordinating inspection or maintenance teams and managing workflows. 3. Technical Skills • Knowledge of Fixed Equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, tanks, and other industrial stationary equipment. • Proficiency in Inspection Techniques such as non-destructive testing (NDT) methods: ultrasonic testing (UT), radiography, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and visual inspection. • Familiarity with Codes and Standards such as ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and API (American Petroleum Institute) standards. 4. Regulatory Compliance • Understanding of Compliance Requirements related to local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA and EPA). • Experience Preparing Documentation and reports for regulatory agencies and maintaining accurate records of inspection activities. 5. Project Management and Coordination • Organizational Skills for planning and scheduling inspections, managing multiple projects, and coordinating with maintenance, operations, and safety departments. • Data Management Skills to maintain records, analyze inspection data, and identify trends or potential failure points. • Budgeting and Cost Management skills to manage resources and optimize inspection activities. 6. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills • Root Cause Analysis skills to identify and resolve equipment issues. • Decision-Making Skills for addressing unexpected equipment failures or inspection findings. • Attention to Detail in inspection and documentation processes. 7. Communication and Interpersonal Skills • Ability to Communicate with Team Members, Supervisors, and Contractors to coordinate inspections, repairs, and compliance requirements. • Report Writing Skills to prepare detailed technical reports and documentation. • Training and Mentorship Abilities to guide junior inspectors or other team members. 8. Physical and Safety Requirements • Physical Fitness for conducting hands-on inspections, often in confined spaces, elevated areas, or industrial environments. • Safety Certifications like OSHA or site-specific safety training may be required.
