Insomniac produces 10,000 concerts, club nights and festivals for seven million attendees annually across the globe. The company was founded by Pasquale Rotella and has been based in Los Angeles since it was formed in 1993.
THE ROLE
The Associate Producer takes a key partnership role with the concert leadership team in the planning and execution of assigned concerts. The associate producer potentially directly produces concerts from 500 - 5000 attendees. The training and development in this role will position this team member to step up to the lead producer of these larger events. This is a hybrid role and required to be in office as needed and various on-site event locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain day-to-day flow of projects in production and operations
Create and maintain project timelines
Maintain changes in operational documents such as pressure points manager assignments, command post dispatch guide, meeting agendas and notes.
Partner with Concert Producer on maintaining budget updates and collect information from department heads
Oversee post show invoice review and submission as required
Oversee ancillary areas such as sponsorship activation coordination and potentially other opportunities that become available as needed
Help facilitate after action meetings and collect show data with Concert Project Managers to create useful document for future planning
Liaise between Producers and department heads to ensure all event directives are achieved
Provide clear, concise communication with all relevant stakeholders as directed
Source and procure various onsite assets
Partner with team and manage the key concert team to produce the highest quality concerts in the industry
Partner with team to create budget and then manage all production related department heads with planning and spending per budget
Partner with the creative team and the CAD designer to create concert layout that optimizes the space and allows for an exceptional experience and flow
Issue concert org chart and confirmation sheet with project manager
Oversee and ensure all event permits are obtained
Ensure that a contact grid is created and delivered to the command post so that issues are resolved in real time and not just discussed in after action meetings as unresolved issues during the event
Partner with local agencies in planning phase and throughout event. Must coordinate group all agency meetings to include these agencies and key operational leads from Insomniac
Keep a solid relationship with city, venue and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that Insomniac’s reputation is held highly
Oversee event capacities and ensure safety and comfort of headliners are always considered while also creating best possible experience
Establish and maintain a strong relationship with the venue and local agencies involved in each event
Partner event and security operations team to issue the Concert Operations & Emergency Action Plan to include all pertinent information for event operational control and emergency planning. This is to include a Severe Weather Action Plan
Serve as main point of contact for venue (as needed)
Create agenda and lead team in regular Production & Operations meeting for assigned concerts
Other special projects and tasks as assigned as needed
Travel may be required (economy)
Recruit, train and onboard members on the team both directly and partnering teams
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years’ experience in live event planning and producing
Proven ability to manage teams for planning and building events or music concerts
Proven ability to develop and execute staff training sessions
Sterling reputation for excellence in the required role with at least five top notch references
Proficiency in spreadsheets
Must be motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude
Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally
Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
Ability to manage multiple projects and requests against multiple tight deadlines and timelines at once
May work in drastic temperature climates
Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
Must be able to move around site grounds for long periods of time
Position will expose candidate to sensitive company information and so must maintain strict confidentiality
Must exercise utmost discretion in dealing with staff, vendors and business associates in dealing with sensitive matters

Hiring Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 USD
