Inside Sales Representative

Processing inbound potential new business marketing leads, assessing customer needs and upsell opportunities, educating customers of available products and services, and developing customer relationships.

Principal (Essential) Duties:

New Construction - Respond to all inquiries, educate callers on the process of obtaining natural gas service. Prequalify applicants on gas availability by utilizing company mapping systems.New Construction - Create the business partners and notifications in SAP for applicants requests for service.New Construction - Determine and create applications of service balancing requests and business installation standards.New Construction - If service available, obtain and process a gas service application. First level approver of gas applications.New Construction - For applications requiring second level approval, assign to appropriate employee/department.New Construction - Assist Outside Sales and Large Volume representatives by obtaining and processing all necessary information, such as applicant, location and load information, site plans, etc. Enter initial gas application and notification into SAP.New Construction - Assist with inquiries regarding application status from initial call through final gas installation. This includes plumbers, contractors, builders, developers, etc.New Construction - Responsible to track, update, and enter data on individual Excel spreadsheets and shared documents in SharePoint.Protection Programs - Process new enrollments for protection programs received via phone, web, referral, etc. Responsible to convert 90 percent of inquiries to sales and have an upsell rate of 30 percent .Protection Programs - Process and review customer claims and communicate with contractors via phone, fax, and email.Protection Programs - Copy, create files, filing, process mailings.Protection Programs - Respond to billing inquiries regarding protection plans. Any additional duties and/or projects as assigned by Sales Supervisor or Sales Director.Ensure excellent, high level, quality customer service is provided throughout all processes.Any additional duties and/or projects as assigned by Sales Coordinator.Ensure excellent, high level, quality customer service is provided throughout all processes.Provide operational support to the Sales Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of the natural gas industry.Knowledge of company policies, practices, and procedures.Knowledge of promotional and selling techniques.Strong customer service, analytical and negotiation skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong computer skills (such as Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)Ability to organize and multi-task activities, resources, and time.Ability to take direction, learn, follow procedures, and consistently produce quality results.Ability to self motivate and work independently and as part of a team.Ability to collect, compile, & review data.Reliable, regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
