The Inpatient Coding Manager is responsible for:

The over-sight and management for a multi-facility coding team. Have experience in correlating coding accuracy and documentation appropriateness to resolve coding issues and to present information on going (i.e., case mix, DRG analysis, physician and nursing education, coding seminars). Performs annual evaluations for the Coding Supervisors and Coding Coordinators. Responsible to establish the BayCare Coding capital and operations budgets. Responsible to meet or beat budgets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education requirements:

Required - High School or Equivalent; Preferred - Associates - Related Field

Credential equivalent experience:

Required - CCS (Coding); Required - Driver's License - State of Florida; Preferred - RHIT (Health Information)

Experience requirements:

Required - 5 years of Management experienceThe position requires excellent critical thinking skills, excellent presentation skills, and knowledge of MS-DRGs, APR-DRGs, SOI/ROM, Official Coding Guidelines, Coding Clinics, and a broad-based and thorough understanding of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10-PCS correct coding. The position requires a high degree of collaboration with clinicians, health care providers, Revenue Cycle and Clinical Documentation Integrity Departments.

 

Location: Clearwater, FL (Primarily remote with on-site meetings)

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Shift Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Weekend Work: Occasional
